What I'm Working On

Well not much going on around here. Lots of working and unfortunately closing a lot so I don't have much time to do the things I'd like. I get home around 10:30pm, gorge on whatever I can find in the fridge and then go to bed to do it all over again the next day. My sleep schedule is also very screwy, but at least I have a job, right?!

Anyway....enough of me complaining..... I'm still binding my Swoon quilt. Its so big. I'm hoping I can finish it by Thursday. Its the first Salt Lake Modern Quilt Guild meeting I will attend since being in Utah. I'm sooooo excited!!! Hopefully all the people I had been admiring while in Jersey will be there! Kind of the greats of the quilt world. I might have to get autographs LOL! I won't. Well maybe :D . I just hope its going to be a great time. Justin will be going with me since I have no one to go with and he's worried about me driving into the city by myself. I hope he can stay entertained for a while. Quilty meetings are not the best place for uninterested boys.

I let you know how it goes. As for now, off to more binding before work while watching King of the Hill. :) What are you guys working on this week???

Casserole Carrier

Hello! Remember me? Sorry for neglecting you guys....Things have been super busy/hectic around here these days. A lot of change is happening at work and I have been super stressed. Our annual self appraisals were also due this week and I was not in any mood for them. Naturally, I procrastinated til the last second, which only caused more grief. And this coupled with little sleep = not much time for sewing/blogging/anything fun.

But just as I thought all hope was lost, I finally got some one of one time with the sewing machine today and cranked out this super sweet Casserole Carrier! Isn't it awesome?!?

I used a fabulous tutorial from Christina over at 2 Little Hooligans. It was so easy to follow! However, I did make some slight changes following this version of the carrier from Jill, at Homemade by Jill. Don't you just love those etched glass pans?!? What a cool idea!

Anyway, this carrier was really quick and easy and I totally recommend making one or more for yourself! I made this carrier for a coworker who just got engaged. Sorta like a "Happy Engagement" type thing. She loves to cook and always brings in super delicious things so I think she'll really like it. At least I hope she will : )

I'm just praying things get back to normal soon cause this whole not sewing thing is really starting to get to me.
